Thursday’s during term-time, 6.15-7.45pm, New Milton Rugby Club, Normans Way, New Milton, BH25 5FN
Scarf’s Freedom Youth Club is for young people with additional needs ages 13-25 years and is a place for young people to relax, have fun and socialise. We have approximately 15-17 young people who come along each week. We have an art and craft table, a quiet area, an area for the young people to enjoy games and puzzles, as well as an area for larger games like hoopla, magnetic darts, skittles, pool, etc. Over the last year we have welcomed many visitors and hosted workshops, including visits from the New Forest National Parks Authority to talk about the forest around us, CODA music workshop which the young people really enjoyed, a visit from the Wildlife Trust with an owl and hedgehog, and a cricket workshop. The young people make toast on a rota and serve to the group at snack time, where we try to have healthy snacks. We usually have an end of term disco with hot dogs and mocktails. The young people are fully supported and encouraged to socialise and try new things by our amazing team of support workers, volunteers and a Supervisor and Deputy.
